We love presents!

It is quite a thrill to hear a whistle at the front door and find the postman waiting with an unexpected box! Some of our family members sent us the most wonderful package, full of dog toys and gourmet jams and preserves.

We were also amazed that it got here in one week, but they did send it priority mail.

This was a real treat, and made us very happy. Now we had better go tell them how thrilled we are! You can tell Henry and Lucy are happy, can't you?

Wow! Even for priority mail (priority to whom?) that is fast! I wonder who is happier, you or the dogs!

I'm amazed too. Did you get charged any duty?

Oh, I'm so impressed! And jealous, a CARE PACKAGE!! I still haven't gotten most of the cards that people sent me.

I'm starting to think it is a Q.Roo thing and not a Mexico thing.

I think when the dogs are happy, we are happy, especially when we have raspberry jam!

No, we didn't get charged duty.

AND, I got a large envelope from a friend in Seattle in 1 week also, regular mail.

Who knew?

In our 8 weeks here we have sent numerous letters, business correspondence, and one package to the US. All have made it to their destinations AND we have received a package and a letter at our apt. We were warned that the mail was undependable, but so far so good. And here in Guaymas the mail carriers ride motorcycles with the mail carried in their saddlebags...is that common in Mexico??

Wow, a CARE package, lucky you. Amazingly fast delivery.

Maybe you are a lucky charm....we have a friend stationed in the middle of the mountains of Afghanistan, and he has gotten things sooner than us from the states!!

cynthia: that's how they deliver mail here on Isla Mujeres too. Except they wait until they have enough mail for your neighborhood to make the 3 mile drive worthwhile!
